LOCATION
Lake George is located at the southern end of the Adirondack Park in Upstate New York, about four hours north of New York City. Stretching 32 miles long, the lake is known for its clear waters and scenic mountain backdrop, drawing visitors year-round for hiking, biking, and water sports. While the year-round population in the surrounding towns is small, the summertime population can swell to more than 50,000 as visitors flock to the area’s resorts, lakefront communities, and outdoor attractions.

PROJECT SCOPE
A visual tour of Tolar Manufacturing Company’s custom Voyager Max Canopy shelter, built with the location and beauty of Lake George in mind.
Knowing the location as an ideal place for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and water sports, Tolar Manufacturing blended design creativity and sound structural engineering to produce an ideal, stable, and durable bus shelter.
The 62-ft long axel open concept canopy is specifically designed to capture the scenic lake background, with each transit shelter featuring 8mm bronze twin-wall polycarbonate roof panels secured by gasket pressure ribs and fully welded steel columns with spoke roof support assemblies. Additionally, solar illumination provides important visibility and security for passengers.
For passenger comfort and ease, the shelter includes Mesa platform benches and passenger information kiosks, built to withstand New York’s seasonal climates.
