Work with North America’s award winning, best-in-class manufacturing leader
With over 30 years in business, Tolar Manufacturing has built a reputation as a great place to work AND a great company with which to do business.
Suppliers and Manufacturers
Tolar Manufacturing is very selective when determining those companies that it does business with. Understanding the principles that make Tolar different, from its values to its process controls to its manufacturing standards, is what creates a successful vendor relationship.
Tolar Manufacturing Company, Inc. (Tolar) holds the prestigious Approved Fabricator Certificate from Clark County Nevada and is an approved City of Los Angeles Fabricator. Earning these certifications, which is often accepted as the quality standard by architects, contractors and building officials throughout North America, demonstrates Tolar’s continued commitment to and compliance with top quality fabrication processes, from engineering and drafting to materials procurement, manufacturing, quality testing and control, extensive team member training and stellar record keeping. The company expects the same quality standards of its vendors and supplies.
Potential suppliers of materials and services must have proven manufacturing or manufacturing supply experience. Further, all suppliers’ manufacturing facilities must be certified or compliant with Tolar’s Quality Assurance Program requirements as directed by ANSI/AQS Q9001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or demonstrate compliance with an equivalent program. Tolar Manufacturing self-audits its own facility, and that of all suppliers, for quality assurance compliance on a quarterly basis.
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
Tolar is particularly interested in doing business with those companies and suppliers that are DBE and/or WBE certified.
A DBE, as defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation, means any for-profit business that is owned and operated at least 51% by a socially or economically disadvantaged individual. To be determined a DBE or WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise) a company must get certified in the relevant state. To learn more visit the U.S. Department of Transportation website.
Build America Buy America projects
Tolar Manufacturing takes pride in being a “made in the USA” company. As the U.S. Department of Commerce and Made in America Office say, “When the U.S. government spends your tax dollars on American goods, we ensure our future is made in America.” For our many federally funded projects, all Tolar Shelters are Build America Buy America Compliant, using rigorous materials including steel and manufactured products that are produced in the United States as required by the domestic content procurement preference established by the Build America Buy America Act.
