Bus Stop and Transit Shelters: Niagara Series

In Ft. Worth, Tolar is collaborating with Trinity Metro to design, produce, and install state-of-the-art bus shelters and EcoShades for 900 bus stops over three years. Tolar provided more than 254 custom Sunset series bus shelters, EcoShades, and other amenities in 2024 as part of this agreement.

Sunset shelters on the Orange Line will feature agency branding and customized details, including art glass designed to match the unique look of the Orange Line buses.

The Sunset bus shelter features 3/8″ clear tempered glass panels and a radius roof design with a nominal dripline along a fully welded roof structure. The shelters also include 80W roof-mounted solar panels with integrated battery storage that power the RMS80F Solar Lighting System, providing under-roof security lighting with five-day minimum autonomous operation through an 8W LED light fixture. A matching roof and footprint attachment are on both end walls for future ad kiosk retrofit. All parts are finished in sparkle silver with a clear coat as selected from TCI standard RAL color deck. Each Sunset shelter is equipped with an advertising display, Mesa benches with seat delineators, wind-protecting glass walls, and solar security lighting.

The Sunset EcoShades are 6-ft wide monopole shelters, uniquely designed for locations with narrow or limited right-of-way. The EcoShades feature a Sunset radius roof design with a 6-ft x 6-ft roof dripline, all-aluminum construction, and a fully welded roof structure. Two fully welded bench seats are mounted on both sides of the center column, providing seating at smaller bus stops. All parts are finished in a super-durable baked powder coat.
